Students, parents, principals, and special guests gathered to celebrate academic achievement at the 2024 Buncombe County Schools Top Scholars Banquet. The event, held April 18, honored high school seniors with the highest grade point averages.
The evening’s keynote speakers graduated from rival BCS high schools, but since joined forces to create a thriving business. Maxwell Hurst (A.C. Reynolds class of 2017) and Mary Laci Motley (T.C. Roberson class of 2017) are the founders of Eats2Seats. The company works with 40 professional and collegiate sports venues in ten states to improve the fans’ stadium concession experience. You can watch the advice they shared with our Top Scholars here.
BCS Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson offered the Top Scholars a challenge. “I want you to picture yourself, in the future, coming back to this event as our guest speaker, sharing all the things you’ve accomplished, and how being a Top Scholar was the start of your journey.”
The opportunity to host an event honoring our Top Scholars was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Buncombe County Schools Foundation, Surry Insurance, Biltmore Church, Becky’s Florist, Ingles, and Lifetouch Photography.
