What’s different in communities that have a strongly connected traditional high school? Enjoying the band and caroling at Holly Jolly ! Seeing the excitement of your children at the Black Mountain Parade as the Owen Band performs and the FFA float passes by to pass out candy and holiday cheer. Swaying to the caroling at a local venue, The White Horse, after the parade with the Owen Chorus. Ask the people at the Veteran’s Retirement Home and others about the service of Owen High JROTC who lay wreaths at the veteran’s cemetery and they will tell you how much they appreciate having the students carry on the tradition of honoring our heroes. What you’ll hear is that traditional public high schools are cornerstones of our communities and what we love about small town living is in connection to the school. Proud to be a Warhorse in a community that values our school like we value our community !
