A Bit About "Bach"
with students

I have been immersed in Technology & Design Education all my life, and learned how to create  isometric sketches and architectural models in my father's classroom in the afternoons and on teacher workdays when I was in elementary school. My first job was running a letterpress, burning plates, and collating and power-stapling the pages of an environmental magazine together for hours on end in a little warehouse outfit my dad put together. I am a part time visual artist and have a fascination with all things design. I bring a lot of this interest to the design and engineering classroom.

I've lived in WNC for most of my life, although I grew up a young waterbug in Florida, spending my time swimming, surfing, fishing, and boating. I went to college on a swimming scholarship.  When I was 12 we moved to Western North Carolina to a 600 acre Adventure camp my parents owned and ran. So I've raised my amazing family here in Asheville. I am the father of 4 sons: Zac, Isaiah, Gabe, and Eli. My weekends will often be filled with trips to local swimming holes and lakes, out on 2 wheels, or in my art studio.

I have taught as a Career & Technology teacher for NC public schools for 10 years. I have been a certified PLTW Instructor for 6 years.
