The attendance policy will be adhered to by all students; no more than 5 absences in a course to earn high school credit.  It is imperative that parents communicate with teachers regarding all absences.  To be counted present 'remotely' for the class both must be followed:

  • Student is present, with camera on and in view, for the duration of the synchronous learning class time via video conferencing software and
  • Student completes a work product (online or offline) for that class as directed by the teacher.

Please stay in contact with teacher if extenuating circumstances prevent student from being present for Zoom session.  Teachers may request administrative approval for those rare extenuating circumstances to accommodate an alternate assignment.

Students will follow the synchronous (real time) schedule below on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Wednesdays are designated as asynchronous learning:

All students will log-in for a 30 minute Zoom session with their class each day following the schedule above.  Teachers will prepare and deliver engaging standards-based lessons that allow for students to interact with their peers and develop a sense of community online with their classmates.  Students will then be given time to work independently or collaboratively with access to their teacher as needed for the remainder of the class period.  Our synchronous learning will model face-to-face learning to the greatest extent possible.

Teachers will also have office hours scheduled from 2-3:30pm to work with students for personalized learning and an additional 30 minutes during a SMART lunch period.

A-B Tech courses will be asynchronous.  Students will ‘check-in’ with their Success Lab teacher during the scheduled period and work on their course.
