Fox, Emily (English)

Welcome, students and parents!

Please visit the links to your left for information about me, the courses I teach, and other pertinent material.

Welcome! I'm so excited to be at NDA as the ENG 111/112, English 1, and English 3 instructor. Prior to my move to the Buncombe County school system, I taught English 3 and 4, as well as ENG 111/112, 232, and 242, at Madison High School for two years.

I received my B.A. in English with a minor in Theatre Arts from Mars Hill College in 2011. While at MHC, I was a Grayson and Marshbanks Honor Scholar, a member of the Bailey Mountain Cloggers, and Vice President and Activities Chair of Gamma Chi Epsilon. I was also active with many volunteer events, including participating in the Empty Bowls fundraiser and being a docent for the Smithsonian.

Three years after graduating from MHC, I applied to graduate school at Southern New Hampshire University, and received my M.A. in English and Creative Writing in February 2016. Some of my creative work has been published in
Cadenza magazine, The Penmen Review, and All Roads Will Lead You Home

I have been fortunate enough to hike volcanoes in Costa Rica, swim with sharks in the Galapagos, and be on the front page of a newspaper in Germany. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, drinking copious amounts of coffee, exploring downtown Asheville, continuing my 24+ years of dance education, traveling, and all things geek.

I'm looking forward to making this the best year ever!
